‘Tis The Season For Giving: Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays
November 22, 2010 by Lee Davenport
You can make this holiday season happier for a local family in need. “Adopt” children of Sandy Springs’ Community Action Center (CAC) families and fulfill their holiday wish lists. Get into the holiday giving spirit with family or friends, or groups from church, work or school! Together you can select families, go shopping and wrap gifts for the children.
CAC’s Adopt-a-Family programfocuses on families in our community who need assistance the most. These families are experiencing crisis situations. Many are at risk of becoming homeless because they lost a job or have serious medical situations. Last year generous donors adopted about 250 CAC families with more than 600 children. This year we expect to have many more pre-screened families registered in the program.
