CAC is working with 10 Fulton County schools to provide backpacks full of new supplies to more than 500 needy children. Donations of pencils, pens, crayon, notebooks back packs and other supplies are needed. To see a full list of supplies visit www.ourcac.org.

Metro Atlanta’s Top Schools
June 15, 2009 by Lee Davenport
Despite some of the bad statistics we hear about Georgia schools, there are actually several schools in Metro Atlanta that are performing well on a nationally-recognized level. According to Newsweek’s June 8 publication, there are 51 schools in Metro Atlanta that rank in the top 1500 in the nation. The high schools that excel include Walton (Marietta), North Gwinnett (Suwanee), Campbell (Smyrna), Riverwood (Sandy Springs/Atlanta), Dunwoody (Dunwoody), Sprayberry (Marietta) – just to name a few.
Interested in what other schools made the cut? Check out http://www.newsweek.com/id/201160/?s=georgia&q=2009/rank/1 for more details.

IN THE KNOW: Metro Atlanta’s Best Schools
December 9, 2008 by Lee Davenport
Relocating to Metro Atlanta with school-aged children/teens? This isn’t Kansas anymore nor is this as simple as High School Musical part 1, 2, or 3. You may be aware of Georgia’s poor educational reputation, including the current lose of Clayton County School District’s accreditation, and you may be afraid… very afraid.
You may fear your college-bound child may not receive the educational support her young, gifted mind needs as you relocate to Metro Atlanta from public schooling. Or, you may be afraid that you will spend 3-4 times the amount for elementary and secondary schooling that you would pay to send your little blessing to one of the most exclusive, expensive universities America has to offer.
